Salt-to-Taste
We all are going through a time-frame which is continuously
reminding us many things. Sidelining the generic things this lock-down period
is teaching us, one good takeaway is thoughtfulness.
The world has come out of hustle from last few weeks. All the panic,
noise and abundant movement is switched to pause mode. We unfortunately got
time to sit, relax and observe the things going within and around us.
I recently watched a video of famous Humanitarian Sadhguru sharing
his views on what is right and what is wrong. How can one know that he/she is
making right decision? He beautifully answered that there is actually nothing
that can be defined as right or wrong. You do something, if it comes out as a
wonderful and expected result, you feel that it was your right decision. If
something miserable happens, you advertise it to be wrong.
What I understood from that short questionnaire is to be
thoughtful and having a perspective. Perspective is a truth to oneself. What
might seem beautiful and right to me, may not be the true for someone else. I
even feel that truth is also not supreme, it is the FACT that needs no
evidence, no proof and no justification for being what it is. We should not
harm others is a fact and taking revenge with someone who did bad to you is
your truth and your perspective.
What I am attempting to convey is to have a perspective/thought of
our own which is good for you and things/people around you. We all have to
cultivate a thought process to decide what brings well-being to us and people around
us. If we dare to choose that part, it will eventually prove to be a right
decision. Question arises now that how can we say that this path will bring
good to me and my people? Your answer relies on how you are, how you see things
from your eyes, did you imagine things as they are or not. Your originality
will help you to answer this.
If you decode someone else’s decision and encode yours in the same
way, both efforts and result will be in vain. This is where you can relate the
title of this blog to its content.
Salt to taste is your originality, your inherent flavor which will
even enhance the most subtle effort put in quench of favorable result. Your
credentials completely rely on your originality. You can copy and paste
everything except character.
Let us not search another MS Dhoni in Rishabh Pant or KL Rahul,
not because they cannot be one, but because they are losing their natural game
and individuality in trying to be a different character.
Let us not believe that just because he/she achieved this much at
this age, I should follow their footsteps. You have your own path to follow,
own struggles to grow through and own destiny to face.
Develop a perspective of being you. You are appealing in your own
way. Stick to your roots and values, we are not here to convince everyone.
If your soul is unique to your body, how can you try to live
somebody else’s thought and life?
Add ingredients of your taste to your dish and your life will
definitely serve beyond your expectation!!
